Though not realized during the journey, it seems that each part of Melissa Petitto’s life has perfectly prepared her to live out her current passion — providing food so delicious, nutritious, satisfying and pleasing that people are stunned to discover it is 100% plant based, and yes – healthy! Chef Melissa is so happy to bring the lessons learned during her 13 years as a personal chef to the stars to serve you, her clients of Thymeless My Chef, with distinction.

From the beginning as a child, the eclectic mix of food with a Jewish mother and an Italian father fed her love of food. A rare opportunity in high school to apprentice with world-renowned chef Frank Stitt deepening her love for preparing food. She excelled at Johnson & Wales University, earning not only a BS in Culinary Nutrition but the honor of Apprenti Cuisinier. With further studies she became a registered dietitian.

Working with A-List Personal Chef clients such as Lucy Liu, Gwyneth Paltrow, Christy Turlington, and Emilia Clarke enhanced her skill of meeting exacting standards. She has authored nine cookbooks, taught at Stonewall Kitchen Cooking School and worked with staff and clients at the Hilton Head Health Institute. Down the road, she may weave more teaching into her work with Thymeless My Chef clients.

Melissa brings all these experiences together to serve you in bountiful Santa Barbara, a city she and her daughter have come to love.
